We are what we eat. A big part of our well being, or the lack of it, is due to the way we eat and what we eat. In today’s world, finding the time to nourish our body is challenging. So many pressures, it seems easier to do things quickly, fast food, while multi-tasking, no longer enjoying a family breakfast or dinner. We not only give up foods with valuable nutrients, we give up a time of communion, communication, and rejuvenation. We aren’t even making a decent trade off by saving all that time. We are actually stressing our system and over consuming our energy as our bodies attempt to get rid of unutilized energy, creating excess waste and causing weaknesses in our digestive organs. By having more awareness of our body in general and how the energy of food works, we can easily find ways to , balance between food that we want and the food we need. We can again enjoy the fruits of our labor, and the vegetables and grains as well. Never before has so much abundance been available to us in terms of fruits and vegetables in our markets from around the world. And yet many of us think ice cream in front of the TV is the way to relax. Instead, a stroll around the block, a fresh fruit bowl eaten slowly, this restores the body. Would it be better for you than a burger and fries as you drive through traffic home? Would you be willing to do it? To maximize our body’s potential and have the energy to enjoy life, we have to know what we’re eating and why. Making good choices begins with deciding to make good choices.
